Sunborn started with my son.

He had bad eczema when he was a newborn. His skin would flare up red, dry, and raw, and he was too little to do anything but cry through it. I did what every parent does: I bought everything. The mainstream baby lotions and creams. The pediatrician steroids. I'd turn each one over, read the back, and find the same thing every time — a long list of ingredients I couldn't understand or pronounce. Some did nothing. A few made it worse.

So I started making my own at our kitchen counter. I stripped everything away until only what his skin actually needed was left — grass-fed tallow and a few organic, nutrient-rich plant oils. No fragrance. No preservatives. No synthetics. Nothing I'd have to second-guess at 2 a.m. For the first time, his skin looked calm. He was comfortable again. The crying stopped.

That first little jar became Sunborn. Every product we make still follows the same rule it did that first night: three ingredients or fewer, each one earned, each one I'd put on my own child without hesitation.

Three ingredients or fewer.

Most baby creams have 15 to 30 ingredients — fillers, fragrances, and preservatives. We went the other way. Every Sunborn product is made with three ingredients or fewer, each one chosen because your baby's skin actually needs it, not because it improves a shelf life or has a fancy scent. We start with grass-fed tallow — remarkably close to the natural oils in a baby's skin — and add only organic botanicals we've sourced and vetted ourselves. That's it. When the list is short enough to read in one breath, you don't have to wonder what you're putting on your child.

Sunborn is woman-founded and family-run. My husband and I built it together, around our own kitchen table and our own children. Every product we sell is one we use on our own family, every single day. That's the bar: before anything carries the Sunborn name, it has to be something we'd reach for without a second thought for the people we love most. We're not a faceless label on a shelf. We're parents who couldn't find what we needed, so we made it — and we're raising our kids on it right alongside yours.
